Issued through the relevant provincial police department, certificates require attestation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to Apostille.

The ACRO Criminal Records Office issues the relevant certificate, which is then Apostilled through the UK Legalisation Office.
FAQ
What's the difference between the 1-year and 3-year pathways for document requirements?
The core documents are largely the same — the main difference is where you file (Spanish Consulate in Dubai vs. UGE inside Spain) and a few procedural steps specific to each office.
How old can my documents be when I submit them?
Most official certificates — criminal record checks especially — are only accepted if issued within the last 3 months, so timing your document collection matters.
Do all documents need sworn translation?
Any official document not issued in Spanish generally needs both Apostille certification and a sworn (certified) Spanish translation by an authorized translator.
What if I'm missing one document?
Tell us before you file, not after. We review every file for completeness, and a missing or incorrect document is one of the most common — and most avoidable — causes of delay.
